Hello! My name’s Stephen Hero. I’m a thirty-two-year-old English teacher who cultivates a deep love of literature, film, history, radical politics, games, and of course, anime. I enjoy identifying points where these things intersect and exploring those connections through unique and engaging lenses.Over the last year I’ve been trying to break out of my comfort zone and contribute to the online “discourse” after being away for a long time. Nearly two years ago my friends and I started a mecha rewatch podcast called Mechinations. We’ve been analyzing and discussing some of our favorite—and not-so-favorite—mech shows of the last four decades. It’s been a lot of fun!
